My Grandma

My grandma is one of the most incredible people I've ever met. Whether its to give a helping hand, or to lend a shoulder to cry on, I know I can always count on her to be there.
Grandma is one of my best friends. She is one of the few people that understands me and can relate to the struggles and challenges that I have gone through as a teenager.
When I did cheerleading, grandma told me about when she was a cheerleader in jr. high. She told me about how only five or so girls would make the team out of like thirty. She went and said a prayer that she would be able to give it her all at tryouts. Grandma made the team. When she was a cheerleader she met grandpa at a basketball game.
Grandma is also one one of the few people that reads my blog! She asks me about it all the time and it makes me want to write more.
So grandma, I want you to know how special you are to me. I love you!

The Office, And Other Good Shows

The Office is my all-time favorite t.v. show! Steve Carrell is the boss. Everyone on that show is hilarious! The jokes are funny, and the entire show is just fun to watch. I can't wait for the next season!

Another good show would be The Hills. I've watched it since it came out a couple of seasons ago. It is full of drama but is definitely worth catching up on if you have never seen it. I love the way Lauren Conrad handles the drama in the last season.

Audrina Patridge and Lauren Conrad from The Hills.
America's Best Dance Crew is a blast to watch! The dancers are amazing and fun to watch. I love how they have themes for each week. For example, this week is "Favorite Song" week. Mario Lopez is the host and the show was created by Randy Jackson.

My favorite crew, Distorted X. Watch and vote for them on America's Best Dance Crew!
A new favorite of mine is Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search For Elle Woods. The girls have casting calls and auditions every week, and its really fun to see what they have to do. There is a girl from Logan on the show, and I'm hoping she will win because she has what it takes to be Elle. The girls get to meet famous people along the way too.

I love Once Upon A Prom! It is the cutest show. Taylor Swift was on it last time, and I thought it was cute how she supported her date's aunt and wore pink to the prom. They took her tour bus there, which I thought was really nice of her to offer! This show is definitely worth watching.

Mavis and Uncle Phil

Mavis and Phil Meyer are our neighbors, but they're more like family. Our families like to barbeque together and just hang out and have a good time. They have six kids. Camilla and Tasha are their only girls. Both Camilla and Tasha are really nice people and fun to talk to.
Since the girls moved to Provo, Mavis asked me if I would want to go over and get some stuff out of their rooms. So I went over yesterday. I love the Meyers. Like I said, they are family to us. Thanks for being so good to our little family!

Seminary Update

I found out some exciting news from my grandma last night!
My mom's seminary teacher from Ogden High will also be my seminary teacher at Mt. Ogden.
I am really excited for this coming year! It should be really fun with all of the added clubs and stuff we get to do because of the change to Jr. High.

Mini-Vacation

Seminary is awesome. It is my favorite class. The teachers are just so neat and have awesome testimonies, and my friends are with me too, which is nice. It's like a mini-vacation from school for an hour away from all of the fighting, swearing, and yelling that goes on.

Recently Ogden High started summer seminary, where you can go every Tuesday from 10 to 12 at the seminary building. The first hour is instructional time, and then the second hour is a game and treats that the seminary council put together. I'm so glad that I have attended this with my friends McCall and Jaclyn.

This is how the first week went...

Bro. Woodbury nicely greeted us at the door. We went into one of the rooms, and waited until it was exactly 10 o'clock. By then, there were about 40 seminary kids in the room. We started out with a loud 'Battle Hymn of the Republic' and a prayer. Then, we started on the lesson.
Bro. Woodbury talked about how we can stay closer to Christ through our daily actions. If we surround ourselves with christ-like things (friends, scriptures, etc.) then it is easier to have the spirit. But if we surround ourselves with bad things (swearing, drugs, etc.) then it is harder to stay on the straight and narrow path.
Bro. Woodbury got in a scary near death car accident within the last couple of years. He made an amazing recovery and it is great to hear his testimony. If anyone goes out on the highway, there is a McKay Dee Hospital moving billboard, and he is on it. All of the seminary teachers have such a strong belief in the gospel that you can't feel anything but peace when you are with them. Actually, you can't feel anything but peace and love when you are in that seminary building surrounded by the people you know will bring you closer to Christ and Heavenly Father.
Then, we had the game and treat time. The game was 'Seminary Jeopardy' and it was really fun. We separated ourselves into seven teams of six and began the game. Our team were the 'Cupcakes'. The questions ranged from things like "Who is the current prophet?", to things like "Who were the two Mormon competitors on American Idol?". Unfortunately, our team lost and came up in 4th place. But that was ok!
Then came the treat. It was a choice between chocolate cream pie pudding or banana cream pie pudding. They were both really good.
After that, it was time to go home. We said goodbye and walked about halfway home and then my mom came and got us.
What an awesome opporotunity I have to attend summer seminary! I truly think this is helping to strengthen my testimony and the testimonies of my friends.

Summer Homework Assignment

I am in an advanced placement classes for next year. I had to try out for the classes and made it along with 34 other boys and girls my age. I'm excited to be with my friends, but not excited for the summer homework assignment we have to do-- and turn in the first day of school!

We are supposed to be reading the books Habibi and Shabanu: Daughter of the Wind, and then writing an essay on the common themes of both books. The essay is due on the first day of school, and if we don't do the essay we'll fail the class without a chance of a make-up assignment.

I'm not excited for this at all! The books came in the mail today from Amazon, and so I'm thinking I better get started on reading them instead of reading Twilight. Or, I should hurry and finish the Twilight series and then start my summer reading assignment.

Either way, wish me luck!
Don't you think these books look so exciting?!?

fRiEnDs!

I have the best, craziest, funnest friends a girl could ask for. We always end up having a fun time together no matter what we do. And even though we have our fights, we learn to get over the drama really quickly!

So...these are my best friends:

McCall- McCall is a really great listener. She helps me through alot of my problems. She gives really good advice too. McCall doesn't joke around as often as some of my other friends, and sometimes she is a little more quiet, which is good!

Jessica- Jessica can seem really shy at first, but when you get to know her she is hillarious! She says the funniest things and makes up the silliest phrases. She is a good listener too.

Isabella- Isabella is quite the daredevil. Her and I get along well because of this. For example, when were at Raging Waters, Isabella and I were some of the only girls in our group of friends that wanted to go down the slides. She makes me laugh and we always have a good time no matter what we do!

Jaclyn- Jaclyn Marie Smith is the funniest girl I think I've ever met. Her and I talk in English accents sometimes when we hang out. She is a happy, energetic person and always makes me feel better when I'm in a bad mood.

Mary- Mary is a great friend! When I was sick for a couple of weeks, she brought me my favorite shake and mozzerella sticks from Arby's. We have the funnest times just chatting and hanging out. I'm really excited to start swimming with her when school starts!

Addicted to Twilight

I'm just one of the many girls out there addicted to the Twilight series!

My friends and aunt have read the books, and they all loved them, so I decided to read the first book, which is Twilight (of course!). There are a total of three books so far with a fourth one coming out this fall. Also, the movie for Twilight will be coming out December 12th.

If you haven't heard already, Twilight is an exciting series. The books are a combonation of a romance and action novel. I can barely put the book down! There is so much suspense that you just want to keep turning the pages!

My First Blog!

This is pretty exciting...my first blog post!
I've been thinking about putting up a blog for a while now, and after reading my friends and families blogs, I decided to do it now. I'm writing a blog so that my family and friends will be able to stay up-to-date with everything going on in my life.
I'm looking forward to starting this adventure!

Update: My mom has just started a blog too. This should be fun! Now my mom, grandpa, aunt, and uncle all have blogs!
